Nothing Poem by Nancy Handabile

Nothing

I feel nothing,

even when you wrap your arms around me

I feel nothing.

When you kiss me,

I shut my eyes and try to pretend it is not you,

For I feel nothing.

I am void of anything

even when you caress me,

your lips on my body do not ignite any passion.

I feel nothing.

Passionless, loveless, even hate is a feeling I do not have.

Perhaps you are nothing

Perhaps I have expunged all emotions I once felt for you.

I feel nothing even when I imagine another holding you like I,

I feel empty, cold and nochalent

when you call me

and say you miss me,

when you say you love me.

I feel nothing

because I am nothing to you.

but above all you are nothing

a cold dark hole in the mud of earth.

I liken you to a potrait blank but for a blob of ink

igniting nothing in me.

in referance to you I say

I feel nothing
