Nothing Ever Stays The Same Poem by Nicola Jane Dady

Nothing Ever Stays The Same

With each and every second
each circumstance will change
from situations certain
to tragic re-arrange
From a burning candle
to a disintegrated flame,
once all the wax has melted
the wick wont light again.

A foetus nourished and protected
in her mothers womb
surviving in amniotic fluid
encased in her very own tomb.
In an instant she's cold and she's screaming
eyes uncomfortably filling with light
as she is unwillingly delivered
in the middle of the night.

What used to be a loving family
is broken, unhappy, estranged
Parents tired of trying
when the problems remain the same.
Children getting caught up in the middle
suffering broken an unsatisfied hearts,
hoping their parents will stay together
whilst anticipating the next fight to start.

A conversation is cherished
when a loved one is here no more
you keep going over the last time
you watched them walk out of the door
You're wishing you didn't take for granted
that you would see them again
regretting you didn't say 'I love You'
unknowing that that was the end.

Everything happens for reasons
of which we are all puzzled and unsure
Though we can all be certain
what was, There will be no more.
We sleep so we can wake
We live until we die
Everything ALWAYS changes
and we will never understand why?
