Nottinghamshire Merry Men Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Nottinghamshire Merry Men

Sherwood Forest, a royal forest
In the times of long ago...
When Robin Hood was a legendary hero
In the Edwinstowe parkland,
Where memories flow.

Robin was the May Day King
An outlaw character of folklore plays
He fell in love with his sweet Maid Marian
And they were married in the
'Merry Men Days'.
