Now Or Never
Let me write oh
And neither annoy nor amuse
Or make the heart of men blind
By the lines you put in my mind.
Let me write not what I think
Else let it dry in my hand, my ink
For I have heard that the pen
Can achieve in a day what ten men
Cannot achieve in a thousand
Even with their swords in hand.
Let me not seek myself to please
But write to have your mind appease
For many are good poet nowadays
But myself you've chosen always
Not because I have the best insight
But because of the way I write:
My rhyme and rhythm are phenomenal
The truth I tell've proved fundamental
Like a dart straight to the heart
Of all lovers of pure art.
Before I pick up my pen
I promise you satisfaction and till then
I will not let my hand down
For together we shall lift the crown.
It's true that we have our differences
To which I'll make further references: Whereas you may fancy a rainy day
I may prefer that my days be sunny.
And while I may prefer fish to meat
You accept anything your eyes meet.
Now who will ever show disdain
If ordinary dirt do contain
Something as glitery as gold,
Then let us to our differences be bold
And when the need be, let us improvise
And for the sake of peace, compromise,
Let us not find any fault
Or seek our neighbours to assault.
We need to love the land we dwell
Only by so doing will we excell.
We are friends now, not foes,
Enmity can only compound our woes
So let us to good councel take heed,
Drop our differences and proceed
For our worst regret
Would be that we relent
In embracing peace
And allow these bloodsheds to cease
For when men good counsels refuse
It is to their detriment and abuse.
They only find at last the use
Of wisdom over folly which they chose. We have come a long way
We may have even gone astray;
We have fought and killed each other
Now we're home as brothers together,
Now we have arrived
To the land our fathers lived.
We have arrived at last
To the fortress of our heroes past,
Same land we've come to inherit.
Let us show one love and spirit
And together we shall claim the victory
And re-write our history.
This is now the description
Of our home, our nation:
What was lost of our land
Where love and riches knew no bound.
A land, as i was told
Flows with something more than gold That surrounding nations admire
While some are filled with wicked desire
What is not theirs to take
But what they got was only headache;
A land made by God above
Who for sign of approval, sent his dove.
Now this is the description
Of what is left of our nation:
A land made in God's own design
And endowed with resources divine,
Now as we ascended, it seemed
We're threading on a forbidden ground,
There, little feets are not found
There, song of birds are not heard
There, dogs give birth to a puppy each
There, sun and moon are out of reach
There, men meet with hardships
There, sea monsters capsizes their ships,
There, are those who do not have
Here, are also those who're brave
Here, are people who are willing
Here, are people who've stopped killing.
Here, are people determined
Here, are people who wants to mend The wall of their fallen houses,
To stitch their trousers or blouses.
Let the wind of change blow
And lift us up from below
And when we are done
Our past would've been lived and gone.
