Overcome with remorse and guilt,
O, Conscience… stress has built...
I can’t sleep and just ruminate,
What if, I had shown some restraint?
“My dear, no point in regrets,
Don’t ask what if… it’s too late.
Fact that you have come to realise
Is atonement… for now…suffice
You have reached a turning point,
Keep this crucial appointment…
Dear, wise learn, from their mistakes,
Forgive your transgression and make
A conscious effort to not be complacent
Go about life mindfully to be resilient…”
I remember some quotation: 'mistakes are not only acceptable part of life, they are essential to a full life. Without intellegent use of mistakes, we would never go on to master any activity where skill is needed' Your poem proves the point

Mamtaji, It is true, a perpetual sense of sin is of no use so long as we don't realize and reform. Lovely couplet: Fact that you have come to realise Is atonement… for now…suffice CP
