O Sweet Mama Poem by Bakare Oluwagbenga Michael

O Sweet Mama

O SWEET MAMA! ! !
One whose name I first called as a baby;
The one woman whose whisper reaches me even from afar;
One whose scolding roughens my flesh yet sooths my spirit;
The one whom I refer to as my goddess of love.
-
My Mother!
The smoothest edge to every rough life;
She wants nothing more than my happiness;
She spares no love when I'm hurt;
Never one to fear getting hurt just to keep me safe from danger;
Ask me if I believe in Angels and I tell you I do;
Ask me to show you an Angel and I'll show you my SWEET MAMA;
An Angel whose wings have been traded for my joy.
O SWEET MAMA!
Forever will I reference your love for me...
-
I LOVE YOU SWEET MAMA...
