Obama Poem by Victor Okechukwu Anyaegbuna

Obama

He dangles the toll of our self-esteem;
Pride for race, dignity for gender:
Proof of the blackness
Of snow-white brains and grey matter.
Yes we can!

In the grey and gracious morass
Lies the kids of fortune
In nature’s rain beaten earth.
The trunk heads elate and diminish,
Yet unfettered.
Peace drives like an engine of destiny,
Yet burdened
With the onus of credibility.
For intent, drive and desire
To prevail and enforce subtleties.

Nobilities diffuse ether
To justify allergy and grace
In a lock of horns.
