Observations Of A Less Free World Poem by Matthew Holloway

Observations Of A Less Free World

Observations of a less free world
the finger lightly pressed upon the trigger
of modern society's fashions, demands
the world reduced to a screen
there are little freedoms left to be found
where oceans, deserts, forests, mountains
are but a single click away
where news, opinions, voiceless words
are always ever present
and the pressure to align, fit in
be part of the all great and accepted
like, share and comment
we are all addicts of some nature
in this Truman-esque picture
the flow of information both tested
and ill informed is relentless
conspiracy theories grow and are added to
flat earthers, religious doctrines
all cults of some mathematical degree
where subject and context subtract
from the freedoms of thought and soul
and it continues nether the less
in the ever shrinking world
fingers pressing triggers
as freedom falls away
