Obsession Poem by Kent Krauss

Obsession

You can, at times, be too motivated about some subject, to the point of obsession
When it takes over more than a decent amount of time, causing regression
In your progress within life, heaping problems caused by the constant distraction
That this thing has been to your normal existence, as evidenced by the consternation
This has caused with your acquaintances, as well as your once-close family members
Who now tend to avoid you, whether it's a planned event or spontaneous numbers
Of your relatives who've decided to get together for a fun dinner on a week's end
So you figure it's better to give up this divisive obsession, trying rather to blend
Back in with the majority and ride a bit more with the conventional wisdom and flow
Rather than continuing to forge your own path that alienates others, causing an unneeded row
