Ocean Bound Poem by empty shell

Ocean Bound

I watched them all
but no one saw
disconnected from reality
horizon just a memory
the crew laboured on
overcast and cold
the sails were dark
the ship rocked
waves crested the deck
the timbers groaned
frozen in place
couldn't hear a thing
eagles soared
I touched the sky
my heart flew
then I smiled, I smiled, I smiled
the clouds burst open
sunlight came screaming into my life
my face started burning
my fingers twitched
my heart pumped
no one talked
no one moved
I stared in awe
then
in plain sight
for all to see
the sun came crashing down
and
it only touched me
but
no one
could see
