Oct.14 In Australia Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Oct.14 In Australia

Oct.14 in Australia

Which one is the voting,
Is it funny? Or stupid?

Long ago a few ships,
With the crews hungry,
Unaware and in need,
Disembarked British!

The locals, both genders,
Came around, extended,
Kindness with reception.

The local custom said:
"Be nice and generous,
To the incoming guests."

They did as the law said,
Fed snakes' descendants,
The poisonous scorpions!

Saving the leech, vampire,
Has been seen as a mistake,
They should be left to face,
Hunger, sickness, or death!

Children of those first
Devoted indigenous,
Suffered, are insulted,
Even now, right today!

But after many years,
The snake, the python,
With ownership claim,
Lies out loud, pretends:
"Want to give freedom,
To the dark indigenous! "

Colonizers, the shameless
Blue-eyed, blonde hair,
Have been, are carriers,
Of the genes of the devil!
