Ode To The Sea Poem by Jean Dament

Ode To The Sea

There's a story of a young beauty,
Twas left by her lover; who went off to duty,
He was to return to make her his wife;
But sadly to say, instead he found a new life,
So if you're out walking just past the lea,
You may chance upon a figure, by the misty sea,
In the moonlight she comes to mourn,
You'll hear her soft sobs that are now born,
Of the loss of her loved one,
Then quickly she's gone before the rising sun,
She bears her burden all alone,
This ghostly image still waits for her lover to come home.
