Mother Theresa and Gandhi will save us
John the XXIII we must respect
(The voice of Jesus being so far back
It has been muffled almost to a whisper.)
John Paul VI if we trust the press
Held great personal good in his love of structure.
Pius XII may have misread Hitler
His predecessor probably killed by Mussolini.
This thing of Peter's succession
Is no small complexity even for arm chair scholars.
