Off In My Distance Poem by Dean Meredith

Off In My Distance

She fed me her coffee
It was good & strong
Like medicine

They gathered round
In their silence
Hands out for something

Love & friendship
Anything else you can take
On your loaded mind

She plays tunes for us
I listen, feel gay
Only in my blessed mind

Careful not to spill it
Her waterfall down
My being there to catch it

I'm a tadpole now
But one day -
I'll be a toad

And love you plenty more still
In all your seas
And tributaries

I'll focus
Every way
To find you
