Oh Dana Poem by Nicholas Abaddon

Oh Dana

Side by side with your head stone,
Maybe yesterday's angels can let me go,
Your name burns a hole in my throat
As the lightning flashes over head

Oh baby what about us?
What about the good times gone,
Where has paradise been for so long?
All alone in the pouring rain, my heart gathering rust.

Oh sweet Dana my home is missing you,
More a cave drawing on my sorrow
Where are the angels of tomorrow?
Your bullet should replace me for you.

Did you think about little Tom?
Everybody else, from miles around
asks who he will hug if not his mom?
Shall I tell him to look for you in the ground?

Something inside me burns like a fire
Tearing us apart, how could you?
I remember a time you were someone to admire
Your cowardice now makes me loathe you.

Everywhere you walked I feel a fire
Burning through my soul
Oh baby how could so easily tire
Can you hear me from Hell's shoal?

I just wanted to be beside you everywhere
Dana now I don't care
Tom's parents came and went as quickly as the air
Oh Dana my darling I waited, head down in prayer

My answer never came.
