Oh Dog! Poem by Shane Dickie

How wonderful you are!
You are surely the proof
That there is a God!
Man's best friend is a masterpiece
Of workmanship by a benevolent creator
What great company a dog is in times of trouble
In times of struggle,
Do not wonder and gaze up into the skies,
Instead look across the room into your pooch loves eyes,
The wonder is in the creation,
Time upon time alone does not produce fine workmanship,
A beautiful poem does not just appear by itself,
Darwin and his followers are blind to the beauty
Of this world and its creations,
Your canine will remind you of this,
Remember to spend time with Fido
And throw him a ball, give him an extra cookie
And a hug—hugging him is to hug ourselves
