Oh I Wish I Could Run Poem by Clare Walsh

Oh I Wish I Could Run

Oh I wish I could run
Closer to the sun
It seems dark and cold all the time
I wish there was a bed to climb
So I could sob and howl
Into my towel
You wouldn't think school would cause such stress
I feel like a damsel in distress
Begging the school to leave me alone
But they don't
They keep shoving exams, assignments and homework down my throat
How I wish I could float
In the sea
The water that cleanses
So I can finally be mended
Therefore I can get out of this prison
