Oh Madness

Oh madness
how I've missed you
the drying paint
staring out lost
eyes drowned in gray light
new day
through the window panes

Oh madness
I apologize
for leaving you
cold shoulder
while chasing tail
and the warm cleavage
of Summer

Oh madness
I welcome your dead leaves
embracing your setting
Autumn sun
listening to Joy Division
and feeling alone
with you
against the paparazzi world

Oh madness
you cling to me
while I whore myself out
preaching about the water
which only fills half the glass
and call shenanigans against
the empty air
that fills the other half

Oh madness
you are what I am
but I still deny
and only when I deny
I am truly lost
in this shallow pond
with the bland fishes
bearing scales of
advertized color

Oh madness
it is your gray
which sets me apart
from the others
