Old Couple Poem by Daniel Trevelyn Joseph

Old Couple

Rating: 5.0

Anything that I say or do
Is wrong.
Anything that she says to me
The tone is critical or condemnatory.

We are husband and wife, stupid!

I must be irritating her:
How I wish to understand how not to.

How I wish she’d teach me about it.

We try, and fail: she says, I am the reason;
I must be.
Why should she be wrong?
