On Love I'Ll Pass Poem by Bongiwe Ndlovu

On Love I'Ll Pass

I wish you wouldn't say the words I Love you because I don't know what Love is. I am not familiar with the feeling nor the meaning. I have tried to love but I found out it wasn't what love is. Sometimes I wish I could rip out your heart and squeeze it so tight that it bursts, so that I can see what love is. Maybe as the blood drips to the tip of my fingers I'll get to feel it, see and probably smell it.

I wish you wouldn't say you love me because they say Love hurts and I'm allergic to pain, I freeze at the sound of love so that it passes and never recognise my existence. They said it resides in the heart and there's no definition to it, I don't like speaking foreign, so on love I'll pass. Those who know it say it's amazing, those who've felt it say it's worth the wait, those who want it say it's attractive.

I wish you wouldn't say you love me because I've seen people who believe in love see their hearts being ripped apart. They watched people play with their hearts, I'm not good at games, so on love I'll pass. I become deaf of the sound of Love because they said it blinds and Deafens those who have it. On love I'll pass!
