On The Busy Main Road Poem by Joyce Hemsley

On The Busy Main Road

Humour intended:

'Green Bin Day' is on call
We are dressed for the Ball,
Gentlemen in evening wear
Ladies with lacquered hair.

Every bin day, we know
We are top models on show!
With a glint in the eye
For each passer-by.

The drive is our catwalk
We swing round with the bin
Returning on tip-toe
Satisfaction within!

But the ordeal is not over
We must glamorize again
To oblige with an encore
And collect the bin in the rain.
