Once In Awhile Poem by Minu Jaiswal

Once In Awhile

Once in awhile, we meet someone.
Once in awhile, we lose someone.
'Cause life is like that,
It is meant to be a gain and loss path;
While moving in the life's journey,
We grow, we fall;
There comes a time, when we are all morose.
But, also a time, when we silently pass a smile to ourselves.
And that is how it is,
That is life.
There are some people, who stand by you,
Some, who abandon you.
There will be some, who will leave you alone, without a reason;
Some, you will chose to leave, because they are not worth it.
But there will be some, who will never desert you;
Not by sticking by your side, but from there, the very top.
Looking at you, with a proud feel,
Shouting out, that you did it, finally, you did.
'Cause in the end, we will know,
This is how it works, that's the way of life.
What stays with us, are the happenings, the moments.
The people in it, and their uniqueness within.
Because, once in awhile,
We always have someone, comprehending us,
Appreciating us, only for, what we have been so far.
Loving us, only for, who we are, in the present.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Amidst conversing with a dear friend who helped me realize the worth of what I write, this came to me. Something very spontaneous. Readers who connect to me, will find it incomplete because i didn't want to stop writing it. This piece, is something. But, like everything, it cannot go on, so. This.
