As I sit here on this cold and windy night
I start to feel a sudden fright
I feel the urge to look to my right
Could that possibly be death
Has he come to take my very last breath
Leave me be, O black death
What if I would like to stay
You can come back later for me to repay
But just leave me be for one more day
You constantly watch over my shoulder
You make me feel even colder
And you tell me that I won't be getting older
Just go away and leave me be
I just want to be alone and free
Just hear this one last plea
