One Might Say Poem by Francis Duggan

One Might Say

One might say I've written a whole heap of stuff
And though I may be one of those seen as not good enough
To be called a writer one who failed to make the grade
But it can be said of good writers that they are born not made
Still I keep on penning and though my best years are long gone
Right on through my last years I will keep penning on
In Nature so much for to write about
From the massive blue whale to the freshwater trout
The heaviest land mammal the African elephant to the thimble sized shrew
So much to write of and good writers so few
So much for to write of yet so little time
In poetry and story, in song and in rhyme
And though I'm in the Autumn now of my life span
I hope to be writing when I am an old man.
