One Of The Free Poem by Charles M Moore

One Of The Free

Rating: 5.0

Oh how it feels to be one of the free
and not to be tied like the others I see
to escape from the chains of mediocrity
and bask in the sun of the people

Oh how it's great to be one of the brave
who stood up and spoke for the ones I could save
and broke down the barriers of hatred and rage
just to be one of the free.

A triumph of a poem, Charles. You pulled off in just a few words something so universal in meaning that it is downright envious. The 'conservative' poets from the site could learn a thing or two from your style; I know I did.
