One On A Joy Ride Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

One On A Joy Ride

Rating: 5.0

Who says ‘tis fifty-fifty divide?
Marriage is seventy-thirty groom-bride.
Someone works very hard
For a two-way-spend card,
And then one of the two goes joy ride!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A view of a chauvinist. Please note, I have nowhere said who enjoys the ride, and who is yoked as a single horse.

A fascinating limerick that tells a sad part of marriage. Although I strongly believe in fifty -fifty divide, there are instances that the other party is so smart to the prejudice of the sanctity of.marriage. I want to add that the groom is capable too of doing such thing especially in this modern time when the bride finds work suitable for the family.

You are absolutely right, Rose Marie, and though I pretended as to not taking sides, my slip showed up in the last line, when I used the pronoun 'she'. Mea culpa, and I'll correct it.
