One Out Of Ten Poem by David Taylor

Why put paper to pen.
Why oh why do it again.
Why look in the heart
to see what to write
and why suffer the thought
that perhaps its just trite.
Why give up your soul
for a verse that's sublime.
Tell me oh tell me
why take all this time!
I never have known
what's in it for me
to write yet more
of these words that you see.
Is it just the way I was born
or is it something I wanted to learn.
Why oh why do I do it again
writing a poem
that scores one out of ten.
