One Time Poem by Matt Burgett

One Time

This poem that I write
Will be read by you only one time
Because I was short in life
By the love of only a dime

And either I will take this gun
With a bullet for my brain
To make me disappear
To wash away all my pain

Or I'll take this blade
And cut away at my love
Until my soul is lifted
And taken away by a dove

Because I can see that now you're happy
And I'm glad that you are
Because without me
You are a major star

And now that I am nothing
And you have nothing left to fear
Then I will jump right off this bridge
And out of your life I'll disappear
