One Way Or Another Poem by Frank (Black) Blacharczyk

One Way Or Another

Sitting in a quiet room quietly listening
Thinking creating a happy ending
Distant sounds yes every day sounds
Voices some loud and angry some laughing
I never heard the sound of bombs or bullets or screams
But on this numbered page a diary of sorts
My everyday story is written
Whether on paper or the script in my memory
The ending can arrive any moment
Somebody else will write that
One way or another

I never heard the sound of bombs or bullets or screams
But I have heard words that wound the soul kill the spirit
Sung over and over again
Like stumbling over lyrics of a song

We throw stones some small some larger yet
"Let any one of you who is without sin
be the first to throw a stone at her."
No one remained they left one by one and
Jesus stood up and asked Where is everyone?
Not all kisses have the same purpose
Judas kissed Jesus
So easy to hate so hard to love harder to forgive
