Only A Minority Poem by Francis Duggan

Only A Minority

Only a minority have god on their side
In a World where the gap between the wealthy and the poor it keeps on growing ever wide
Even in so called wealthy Nations many live in dire poverty
Circumstance of birth seems the main cause of human inequality
Worldwide in every city and town
There are so many people who are financially down
People hungry and homeless and in life doing it tough
Who do know how it feels like for to sleep rough
That life choices are only for the privileged few
Is only stating the obvious and not anything that is new
In a high unemployment job market the one without a current postal address
Most of if not any employer could hope to impress
The gap between the wealthy and the poor increasing by the day
And this seems a rather sad thing for to say.
