Only Those Poem by Hannington Mumo

Only Those

Only those that see beyond
The tip of their nose
And break from folly's bond
Shall pass through the fire furnace.

And only those that persevere
Its baking and searing heat;
That shall bear its shame and scorn;
Refuse to quit and really stay at it,
Shall reap the fruits when all is borne.

The choices are stark,
To walk in light or reside in the dark;
And only those that choose the former
Can feel their hearts feel warmer
As the reaward rolls within their grasp
While the choosers of the latter have defeat to clasp!
