Oppression Poem by George Bernard Hough

Oppression

Sometimes its based on religion, and sometimes on where you are from,
but always its used to oppress you when a reasons decided upon.
Your` stout in your` faith and your` culture, and ever so proud of your` race.
But some human beings are heartless and throw it all back in your` face
thinking they are the chosen, from millions that live on this earth.
but when day of reckoning is on us, they`ll find just how much they are worth.
No matter if its God or Allah, that they say their prayers to each day,
its not all the praying that matters, its for deeds, that they dearly will pay.

For mankind is given, by Allah or God, the gift of a life all must cherish,
and woe betide those, who take it away, for this, their own soul will perish!
They may feel it right, in the name of their faith, to end a life lived, in another gods name.
But when the time comes for their life to end, they may find, both gods, are the same.
What excuse will there be for the way that they lived, and the actions they took,
basing all, on the words, which were written, by man, in a very old book.
Words of control, for the few who preach, of a faith, with them as its face
between god, and oppressed, who must die to keep them in their place.

very nicely put..it is the way we conduct ourselves...god is one but paths to him are many, holy books are many as per your region/religion teaching brotherhood of mankind... but interpretation in the hands of wrong people creates havoc
