Our First Dance Circa'77 (Prom Night) Poem by Jesus Diaz Llorico

Our First Dance Circa'77 (Prom Night)

Rating: 5.0

"They all came in calm delight
for it was a special kind of night
with the fair moon and lovely stars
illuminating the dark gray skies
and with the crowded dance floor
all the way to the main door

it was a night to remember
with lots of fun and fine weather
and they have waited so long
to dance to their favorite songs
and then the music fills the air
of "as sure as I'm standing here"
I looked at your sparkling eyes
and you immediately understand
then I take you by the hand
and we danced to the moonlight
it became the most ideal night
for nothing is more sweeter
when we have each other
nothing is more lovelier
than embracing one another
for when we looked eye to eye
the music just seems to fade
no words spoken
and nothing was said
for the only thing we heard
was the beating of our hearts
and with your smile
it entwines everything
that we know in that instant
that we will be part
of each other hearts'...forever."
