Our Last Anniversary Poem by Ryan Lee Morris

Our Last Anniversary

Today is our anniversary
9 years have gone by so fast
I wish it could be like our first one
But sadly enough it's our last

I remember our hearts
We drew in the sand
When we said our vows
And took each others hands

Our 2 hearts beating
They were beating as one
Our new lives together
Had just begun

We said our I dos
And not our I don’t s
We thought of I wills
And not of I won' ts

Our rings and our bond
Was sealed with a kiss
On those lips of pure sweetness
The ones I will miss

I gazed in your eyes
And the love that I felt
What a beautiful day
You sure made me melt

For better for worse
Til' death us do part
I gave you my promise
I gave you my heart

But now it is over
I wish it didn't have to end
For I lost my true love
I have lost my best friend

Thank you for your love
And the best years of my life
I wish you the best
Thank you for being my wife
