Our Politicians Poem by Francis Duggan

Our Politicians

Our politicians are our reflective mirrors some are known to say
And there is truth in this I too see it this way
The word untrustworthy to many of them does apply
Most politicians the truth does know how to deny
Most politicians are not trustworthy enough to believe
To cling on to power they know how to deceive
In Parliament their verbal blame games they do play
They behave towards each other in a derogatory way
They leave Parliament with huge pensions at the tax payers expense
That they are rewarded for their years of lying makes for little sense
Yet that they are our reflective mirrors happens to be true
Since we receive from life in most cases what is only our due
One lie leads to another with most politicians it is this way
And that some of them believe their own lies only true for to say.
