Our Son

Our Son the Soldier
How great a man he must be
To be joined in the fight to
set another part of the world free

Our Son the Soldier
So very proud of you we are
To all of us who love you,
you will always be our shining star

Our Son the Soldier
So far from home and in a foreign place
Just close your eyes to
see a familiar smiling face

Our Son the Soldier
So very far away
We will all be waiting with open
arms on your coming home day

this is a nice poem for your son, i am in the army and was in iraq for the war, its nice to get back home to prople who appreciate you, cos everything we do for them is not appreciated and for the ones who are against us being there in iraq and afghanistan are ignorant people who do not know about what we are doing, if they did they wudnt b against us (Report) Reply

Great poem I had tears in my eyes reading it, my son is also in the army way from home at the moment, my arms will open wide in November I pray. I wish your son well. I pray all our soldiers come home safe and sound. God bless them and keep them safe. (Report) Reply
