Out Of Breath Poem by James Barrs

Out Of Breath

When I get this close to you
I can barely catch my breath
When you touch my hand,
The electricity skips my heart
When I burry my head in your hair
Then scent feeds flames in my soul

The moments when your near
Slow and the sand cannot fall
The world and it's worries
Wait patiently behind the walls
What stressed the bonds of sanity
Relaxes and slackens for awhile

Yet dreams cannot sustain reality
Your love was not for me to feel
Just a chain to bind me here
A launch pad for you to fly
Towards true belief in real love
While I stand here out of breath.
