Outsider/Insider Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Outsider/Insider

Rating: 5.0

Spaced out on jazz
And all that's crass
Speaks and walks beat
So indiscreet

Jack Kerouac
Like Mack The Knife
Outsider/insider
Bending all the rules

Terrific poem, Richard. Indeed, Kerouac was both insider and outsider. He was outside the mainstream. But when it came to the zeitgeist of his era, he was the defining insider. Perhaps more than that, - perhaps the very core. Again, a great verse, Richard.

What kind of music is this which doesn't go according to rules. This clearly shows a disenchantment- nicely expressed: 'Bending all the rules'.
