Paid The Price Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Paid The Price

Paid the price

Soon after would come the
-Summer-time vacations.
-I read for last exam
-chemistry's; set for two at PM!

Heard a knock at the door
-there she was; neighbours' girl…
-in her hand a clock for alarm …

Each of us was a child
-with age-gap quite large
-very deep at the time!

I went to high school
- (second year…)
-she, seven years younger.

"Can you help us repair? "
"Doesn't work, can you set? "

She asked me as was told
-by her housewife mother…
- (two ladies unaware!)

"Sure, why not? "
-for ages it has been our culture
-to give hand, help neighbours…

She sat, and I worked on
-wound, rewound…
-looking at the clock.

Suddenly I looked up,
-surprised! ! !
-I saw her genital!
-a girl she, a boy I…
-neither could look, stare…
-nor could I take eyes off…
-laid me for best view and with it fell asleep!
-Was too late for school when woke up!
-Missed exam; punishment, my first-last to retake!
