Painter Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

Painter

Vivid reds, fiery yellows and blues
Greens sparkling in many different hues
Magically a canvas transforming
Trees, birds and flowers forming

Everything with cut and dash
Watching those colours collide, explode and splash
Deftly waving his wand, with swift sharp strokes
The painters hand emotions delicately invokes

Burnished a glowing warriors shield
A tiny mouse collecting corn, in a field
For some it is the Mona Lisa
To others the leaning tower of Pisa

All delicate images captured there
Difficult to judge and compare
Marvellous works of art
Making hearts flutter and start

I can almost taste the colours flagrance
Drawn to the ripened fruit placed by the brush
Eyes drinking in the juices of beauty
A cornucopia of satisfaction

Seduced totally
Filled emotionally
Awakened with the music before my eyes
Perfection in every brushes powerful stroke
