Palestine; We Let You Down Poem by Guess Who

Palestine; We Let You Down

Sorry; I gave you a reason to cry
Sorry; I gave you a reason to die
Sorry; I couldn't offer much aid
Sorry; can't rescue you from the raid
Yesterday we were close brothers
But that changed with the arrival of intruders
Days gave you reason to hope
Sorry we didn't offer the rescue rope
Today you're to suffer in silence
Sorry; but i pray you patience
Times have changed I've become a liar
Sorry; because of me you suffer the reign of fire
Today is not like yesterday
Today's a totally new day
Today's a day when you're alone
Stand tall and have faith in your stone
Guess I'll leave you to listen to death
Guess I'll try to take a second breath
One that can show me the right from the wrong
Today we're no longer as strong
The truth is to be said
The west has finally separated us
