Panoramic Window Wonders Poem by Deanna Samuels

Panoramic Window Wonders

Through the new panoramic kitchen window
The West horizon is beyond
Peeping over and above the tops of forest trees
As the evening hour approaches
Sometimes, sudden magic, the sky slowly lights up
The horizon gathers momentum, becomes afire
Oranges, pinks and reds spread out across the West
The brilliance of colors breathtaking
As though the Earth is ablaze
Clouds of white and grey enhanced by fiery setting

Take a few moments to watch and awe with wonder
Such magnificence of a heavenly light show
Put all else aside to view such scene
Tarry not, even for a moment or so
The sun descends quickly
Those brilliant colors will soon wilt and wane
Within a short hour's quarter
The sunset peak has faded
Diminished reds, pinks and orange
Sink behind the far horizon

Dark slowly descends over the Earth
The night sky opens with sparkling, glittering stars
Another wonder to gaze upon
Through the new panoramic kitchen window
