She made a paper rose for me
She painted it in shades of red
And sprinkled it with love, then she
Lay it down upon the bed
A gesture of her love, she said
To let me know how much she cared
To have me there inside her head
And spend each day with feelings shared
I made her feel like she was really royalty
By showing her how much she meant to me
I took the rose and placed it down so carefully
And told her that she’d always have my loyalty
That rose is still there, as a welcome memory
Of the day she made a paper rose for me
For now she’s gone it’s all I have as testimony
To our love and all she meant to me
