Paradise Towers Poem by Kevin Patrick

Paradise Towers

Rating: 5.0

Flat block jungle
Pierces through a wounded sky
a High rise jailcell
That Swells like Concrete Hives
It's an urban zoo
Where the inmates run with knives
And the warden's foam
With red rabid staring eyes

Graffiti runes mark
Fractured scurvy littered walls
Sundry garbage piles
Round the plaza in plastic squalls
Gangs of teenage girls
Run the dilapidated halls
Playing deadly games
When their parents never call

The elevators shriek
When their buttons are all pressed
The garage is now savage
Where dead cars fall into its nests
Residence watch tv
Without the need of feeling stressed
Serving rats for dinner
To entertain their captive guests

Cannibal grannies
Lure you with smiles and sweet treats
Jackboot Caretakers
Will chew you out like state Police
The Robotic cleaners
Will run you down like some disease
And the penthouse pool
bubbles for fresh victims out on lease

So spend your golden hours
And come by Paradise Towers
