Paradox Poem by Amy Fifita

Paradox

Darkness pounds
Plugging happiness
Into the past.
Life's simplicity
Becomes too complicated
To understand.
Curtains wave
In the window
Of my hearts.
Bliss set free.
Who was it?
Who unlocked window?
Who let them destroy glee?

I sit looking out
At the 'happy' people
Caught in worldly troubles
Mindlessly walking.
Only understanding my pain;
Not your ignorance of it.
Do they chose
To live
Happily not knowing
Reality's plunder?
No! They chose to live
Knowing the bliss,
The destruction.
Knowing they both live together,
With the cup half full
And the cup half empty.
