Parasol

rainshine you said or would have
if you could have and what a lovely
day it's turned out to be.

you were still small when asked to tea
and balanced yourself
with Grandmother's huge

pink silk umbrella.
and wouldn't go to sleep
without it.

my parasol you insisted.
an elegant word for sure,

for one so young.
but you knew what was yours
in the new found lands of

the living room, dining room,
baby atelier
even then.
