Parents Lost At Sea Poem by Abbey Rigney

Parents Lost At Sea

Rating: 5.0

I can’t believe I trusted you two
when you said everything was good.
I should have tried to stop this.
I should have done all that I could.

I know you loved each other once.
Like the day you both got married.
I guess those times had went too fast.
Since now your love is buried.

I know there are kids in school
with parents just like you,
You know the ones that fall in love.
But then realize it’s not true.

I’d flip through family photos
In hopes I would not cry.
But tears rushed out, with raging pain
And I just kept asking, '“why? ”'

I loved it when we all got together
And we'd laugh and play a game,
But now even little Brian can see
that neither of you are the same.

I guess you two dont have the time
to help me fix my heart.
I guess my family portrait
was just meant to fall apart.
