Particoloured Clouds Have Gathered

Particoloured clouds have gathered
over the dubious monuments of earth
we memorize the clouds
the shifting of the light
like Monet, in his gardens. or
Agonized before the white cathedral.
who could freeze in stone
beyond Michelangelo
tragic glory, Mary holding Christ
in such a realm of light and shadow
I dream of the pietas
Where the orchid clouds have gathered
Dark purple the thought of human tears
Memorialized in former years
And light is scattered
So that prisms take root
Within us
And the ark sails on.
