I met this guy..
When I was in senior high
He looks like Brad Pitt...good looking guy
Happy when his around-sad when he's not
I like him a lot - I love him i quote
He became my boyfriend
Friends & love truly blend..
Exchanging thoughts and wishes
Holding our love...hold on to our promises...
But in one snap!
Like a bubble pop!
You are gone...you left me alone
In a place without a single trace....
After 25 years...school planning
For our batch reunion 'Alumni Home Coming'
I met some of my batch mates on Facebook
They invited me to be there..? 'He will also be there'
Got excited 'see him at long last! '
I should be there! it's a must!
Without a further ado....
I booked my plane ticket I will fly I will go.
The waiting is over....this is the night to remember!
I walked thru the gate....
Told myself'you're beautiful & sexy' ;) have faith!
One by one I gave a glance..
Was looking for a familiar face
I've known at once....
Some of my classmates forget about me..
Had to remind I'm Ging it's me!
Back then was an ugly-duckling coward
Or in a joke they call me(butiki) lizard...
As the night goes along way.
I begun to mingle..i laugh and giggle...
Suddenly, someone whisper and say,
'Jonathan wants to talk to you'
I follow where he pointed..I saw Him seated
Knee's shivering, heartbeat tremble..
I can't move. I can't walk anytime I fall
I was stuck on my feet...speechless
Then he stood up walked to my side..Speechless....
He held my hand we slowly walk side by side..
Tight-lipped, I am terrified...
We walked mile..
Paused....he look at me and smile.
Moonlight reflect the shadow of yesteryear
Stars silently peer...
Heavy load I kept for a long time...
My sentiment now in battling crime
Emotions too strong to resist
Hatred slowly drifted even insist...
I ask 'why you left me? 'in a husky tone.
Tears rushing....I can't hold on
He took a deep breath..........
'I'm sorry Ging...
I broke your heart but I didn't mean...
Too young and confused..
Scared I was....
That I won't be able to meet your desire
THEN I realized, w/out you I can't bear..
But It's too late I can't find you..
Every time I heard our favorite song on the radio,
- Nothing's gonna change my love for you-
Memory of you rolled by..reminds me of you..
Silence succumbed
I took air from my diaphragm....
Blew to the wind
Now my yearning ends
I raised my head....met his eyes....
.no one would blink. Scared one's gone in one wink..
Instinct in one slow motion he hugged me,
... tapped his back. 'don't worry I'm OK'
'25 years long enough..I've moved on'
Time erased the pain..
You had a special place in my heart forever remain..
I'm sorry I left, I was hurt then..
I came wanted to see you,
wanting our love story to have an ending,
A love story once good once winding'..
Past midnight I checked my wristwatch
' I need to go back to the hotel, have early flight tomorrow,
have to go, thanks you spent time with me'I told him..
He replied 'OK take care'
I leave you now without the thorn inside my heart'I said
I reached hotel room, still was out of control,
his voice echoed-made me a fool..
The scenes keep coming,
conversations keep lingering...
'till my deep thought was disturbed,
got text message from Jonathan-
'thanks Ging! had wonderful evening,
it was such a relief,
guilty feeling i hide for a quite time..
now slowly drifting'..
You asked Edward below if this is a poem. I have struggled with this myself. What makes a poem a poem? The answer I have decided is the reader. If the reader thinks it's a poem, then it is. That said, This Is A Poem! And a very beautiful and well thought out one at that. Just because you are telling an autobiographical story doesn't mean it can't also be poetry. I enjoyed this very much. It's gripping. The type of thing that once you start reading, you must know the conclusion. Very well done Ging. A 10 no doubt
OMG sorry for the late response just read your comments now..Yes it happened for me its easy to write with my own experienced. Now i need to inspire back so i can write again Thank You Mike :)

thanks Edward for reading this long story (is it a poem) of mine it happened when I was a teenager once in a while I remember him but no meaning at all :)
You write with rare poetic skill. The story vividly flows in an-easy to follow way. Simply unputdownable!
Wow! A lovely poem about loving and losing. I would say more but Bri Edwards already said it all!
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
As long as you have hope, I can assure you that the future is bright and awaiting you. Weep no more, my fellow poet. Beautiful and emotional poem with powerful imagery, Well done!
