Passing Time Poem by Brandi Guthrie

Passing Time

Too many nights I have wasted
on these visions and dreams squandered away.
Too much pain have I tasted
waiting for you to come back to me someday.
This life that could never be mine,
I hold too frail and precious in my grasp.
I`m sitting pensive, losing time,
longing for a love and life I should`ve had.
I`m safe in you, inside your arms.
The darkness in me soothes and settles down.
Through you I am hidden from harm
And now I can feel that you`re always around.
My heart has been caged for you,
my loyal lion with the eyes of a clear blue sky.
You reveal to me the lasting truth;
that our love is outside of the passing time.
